We all love them, but those fried delicious rings aren't that healthy.
The whole they are fried part pretty much gives it away.
So how do you make them into a Clean Eating, Healthy and still Delicious Dessert.
Simple, just follow my recipe.
What makes this recipe so healthy is the fact that we are removing
eggs, milk, granulated sugar and flour from it.
These doughnuts are full of good carbs that provide dietary fiber we need.
Not bad simple sugars that we find in milk, flour and granulated sugar.
Also removing the egg lowers the cholesterol of these yummy things.
So I will show you my steps in making the doughnut and paste the recipe below.
LETS GET STARTED!!
I started by toasting my shredded coconut and then putting it in the food processor.
I just love the nutty tasty it gives and processing the coconut allows it to release its natural oils, which means we do not have to add any other oils to the recipe.
So here is what my shredded coconut looked like at first and
then after I toasted it and put it in the food processor.
Next mash your bananas and add the coconut, brown sugar and baking powder.
Mix it well so that everything is incorporated.
Lastly add the oats. You want to do these last because you don't want them too get too soggy.
If they do the structure of the doughnuts will not hold.
You will just end up with flat banana oat disk.
To transfer the batter to the doughnut mold i put the batter into a plastic sandwich bag,
cut off the tip and just pipe the batter into the doughnut mold.
This makes it a lot easier and it saves you from having to
clean up the middle ring of your doughnuts.
Once you are done with that place your doughnut molds into the oven and bake for 12- 15 minutes.
The longer the doughnut bakes the more golden brown it comes out.
Also the longer they bake the yummier the outside gets.
It gets crispier and the banana starts to caramelize giving you a delicious sweet taste.
I put mine on wire rack to cool.
While they cool you can make the glaze.
Combine all of the ingredients and mix until they are well combined.
Once they are cooled completely you can drizzle the glaze right on top.
And then ENJOY!!!
And let me know what you though of them in a comment!!!
